Gian Carlo Menotti Amahl and the Night Vistors Mercury Opera Rochester has added a special event for the holidays - a full production of Gian Carlo Menotti’s opera Amahl and the Night Visitors. “This is a favorite holiday event for children and adults alike, which has not been performed in the area recently. It’s really a wonderful, sweet piece, just the right length and subject for children during the holiday season.” explains Mercury Opera’s Executive Director Kristen Kessler. “We also have found a wonderful young boy to sing the role of Amahl – which is the most difficult part of planning this production.” Mercury’s production of Amahl and the Night Visitors will be conducted by Gerard Floriano, and accompanied by Arthur Williford on piano.
